Elgato Stream Deck Simplifies Control at BMT’s Digital Innovation Centre

When BMT developed its new Digital Innovation & Simulation Centre (DISC), the goal was to create a flexible environment for training, collaboration and maritime simulation. The installation combines a range of technologies, including immersive LED displays, advanced processing and professional collaboration tools.

Helping bring everything together is the Elgato Stream Deck, which provides simple, one-touch control over the entire environment. While the facility combines immersive LED displays, advanced NovaStar processing and collaboration technologies, it is the Stream Deck that makes the system accessible to everyday users.

Working alongside the NovaStar platform, custom middleware developed by Dataflow AV enables the Stream Deck to execute more than 20 automated commands from a single button press. Tasks such as recalling display layouts, routing sources and repositioning content are all managed behind the scenes in the correct sequence, removing complexity from the user experience.

The BMT DISC project demonstrates how intelligent control can unlock the full potential of integrated AV solutions. By combining powerful visualisation technologies with the simplicity of the Elgato Stream Deck, BMT has created a flexible environment that supports training, collaboration and innovation, while ensuring the technology remains invisible to the user.
