4K for Free! Holdan reaches out to UltraHD producers

Panasonic is at the forefront of 4K production with a range of cameras ranging from the 50 fps UHD HC-X1000 camcorder to the very special VariCam 35. As Panasonic’s distributor, Holdan is launching a campaign to encourage UK producers to look beyond HD.

Producers are invited to pitch to win one of 10 waterproof UltraHD HX-A500 action cameras. Plus, they can be selected to enjoy an extended hire of the DSLR-style DMC-GH4 with YAGHE SDI/XLR interface at no cost.

“This new promotion enables producers about to embark on a new project to go 4K now, with no risk and at no cost. We are in no doubt that UltraHD is the best option for many productions. Whether it’s to deliver in the highest quality HD, archive in future-proofed 4K or to deliver higher resolution programming now, UHD gives users the ultimate flexibility.” Said Chris Daniels, director of Holdan.

To apply, producers are asked to email Holdan (marketing@holdan.co.uk) with a 100-200 word synopsis of their planned production, plus the anticipated shooting and completion date. Entrants should send also either their show reel or links to productions that they have been responsible for. The closing date is the 27th February and winners will be selected by a panel of Holdan product managers. Terms and conditions are available on the Holdan website.

Panasonic’s HX-A500 is a waterproof UltraHD camera that can shoot underwater for 30 minutes. Wet or dry, images are stabilized and can be reviewed on location using the built-in LCD screen. The camera weighs only 31 grams and can be mounted anywhere: helmets, tripods, bikes or water skis...

The DMC-GH4 is an award-winning 10-bit 4K camera that outputs 4:2:2 video. Featuring full controls such as zebras, peaking and Cine-D settings, it delivers beautiful results. The GH4 is paired with the YAGHE interface system which features SDI ports, XLR inputs and timecode.
