Serv Pro is a hardware streaming device that allows up to 10 iPhones and iPads to monitor a video feed in HD over WiFi. Perfect for script supervisors, hair & makeup, classrooms, and documentary shoots, Serv Pro offers a compelling monitoring alternative to zero delay wireless video systems.

Stream over local networks

Serv connects to cameras via HDMI or 3G-SDI and streams over 2.4 / 5Ghz WiFi or ethernet to iOS devices connected to the same network. Each unit supports up to 10 simultaneous connections, whether you connect directly to Serv Pro or to the same wireless access point.

High definition and low latency

Each Serv Pro feed is streamed at 1080p with just a 2 frame delay. The video stream also includes a stereo audio channel that can be enabled or disabled from the Vuer iOS application.

Works harmoniously with Teradek Bolt and Paralinx products

Serv Pro operates on 5Ghz WiFi and is a complementary tool to zero delay wireless systems like the Bolt series. With proper frequency management, these systems will work together without interference.

Professional monitoring with VUER

The VUER application for iOS puts an entire cinematographers toolset in your hands, allowing you to use vectorscopes, false color, focus peaking, and more on each Serv Pro feed you’re monitoring. The application is free to use and can be customized to to allow users full or limited access to the toolset.

Monitor up to 4 live feeds at one time

VUER can monitor up to 4 Serv Pro feeds at the same time, all in 1080p and all at the same 2 frame delay.

Social Distancing on film and TV sets: safe and affordable monitoring with Serv Pro

As programme makers get back to work, productions are adhering to safe procedures and social distancing. Re-writes and clever camera angles keep actors apart, while wireless follow focusing and zero latency 5GHz monitoring allow key production personnel to control equipment and each shot at a comfortable distance.

Serv Pro or Bolt: WiFi for Low Latency Transmission? Serv Pro and Bolt compared

On-set wireless monitoring is now standard on set, and Teradek is the de facto manufacturer of choice. Within the Teradek line-up, there are two local monitoring options, the Bolt and the Serv Pro. For anyone new to cable-free monitoring, here’s a quick buyer’s guide. If you want a short answer, this is it: Bolt is the monitoring choice for critical camera operating and lens control; Serv Pro is perfect for everyone else on or near set who doesn’t require specialist tools, colour accuracy or ultra-low latency.

Shooting safely on-set. Being good Neighbours

Much to the delight of kids across the world, the first high profile TV show back in production is Australia’s Neighbours. The studios and location are up and running again since the crew turned off their cameras in March. In order to get back on set, according to a report on ABC News, new protocols are being adopted including:

Ready, On-Set, Go. Getting production going post-corona

European Film and drama production will get back to the business of creativity very quickly after restrictions are lifted. Shoots, abruptly cut short in February and March, are itching to finish production. Films which were were held up in pre-production are keen to catch up on lost time. Same, but Different: Food for Thought

The Disconnected DIT: safe production on or off-set

Whether you’re in front of the camera or behind the camera, the show must go on, as they say. It’s up to all of us to collaborate in a way that makes sense and keep creating content that matters.Sabrina Safran Backstage Magazine
