ATOMOS CONNECT

Ultimate accessory for Ninja/Ninja Ultra & Ninja V/V+ with a connection to the world

  • SYNC expansion module
  • Modular expansion for Ninja V providing continuous power, analogue audio calibration and wireless Timecode SYNC to Ninja V
  • Control up to 100 Ninja Vs with SYNC modules
  • Connect up 6 bluetooth devices and countless Timecode Systems products

Continuous power your Ninja V

The AtomX SYNC module clips in-between the Ninja V and your battery using the AtomX expansion system. With a small battery inside it also acts as a hot swap continuous power battery extender, allowing you to keep your Ninja V running for approximately 5 minutes while you change the main battery.

Give your HDMI camera professional Sync

Use AtomX SYNC to bring your HDMI camera into a professional multi-camera production, then have all your footage instantly synchronized when you come to edit it – no more time wasted trying to align clips or running additional software. With the AtomX SYNC module you can guarantee your video and audio sources all match up perfectly every time.

Robust network technology – proven in Hollywood

Using the same technology used on major motion pictures you can now connect multiple AtomX SYNC enabled Ninja V units to form a single network. Get frame accurate control of start/stop and timecode, all controlled from a ‘server’ configured Ninja V. Each file recorded will not only be perfectly synced, they will all be exactly the same length too. In addition, each Ninja V, whether in server or client mode, can also transmit accurate sync via Bluetooth to an additional six devices. The AtomX SYNC is also able to synchronise with any number of Timecode Systems sync devices, which allow connection to other cameras, sound mixers and sources.

One server – many client devices

Operating within the 200m+ long-range RF network all AtomX SYNC units communicate directly with the server configured unit. When a device goes out of range it maintains super accurate time timecode for as long as needed using a professional grade TCXO. Once the unit comes back into range of the network it seamlessly re-joins it. This makes AtomX SYNC perfect for multi-cam large event, sports and venue coverage.

Calibrated Analogue Audio delay

Great video can be let down by poor quality audio or a limited number of audio inputs available. The Ninja V is a great way to provide an additional two channels of analogue audio via its 3.5mm mic input.

When combining HDMI video with audio from an external source running directly into the recorder’s mic input existing users will know that they need to set up an audio off-set delay in their Ninja V menu. This is a case of trial and error to get perfect lipsync between the two sources. Now, the AtomX SYNC can calibrate this for you automatically. It works out the difference between the HDMI embedded audio and the external audio input for your specific camera setup. The process takes less than 2 seconds and once done there is no more guessing or lipsync errors.

AtomX Modular System

Up to two AtomX Modules can be attached to the Ninja V at the same time. This allows the AtomX SYNC and AtomX SDI modules to be combined for use with SDI cameras and sources.

AtomRemote App

New Control Options for Ninja V and Ninja V+

Atomos has announced a completely free means of remotely controlling their Ninja V, and Ninja V+ field monitors and released a new firmware update to control fan speed.

The AtomRemote app for iOS and macOS works with the AtomX SYNC module to provide remote control features for the Ninja V/V+ via Bluetooth® LE and RF transmission.

The App also gives Ninja V and V+ users the ability to:

  • set LUTs
  • activate all onscreen tools
  • operate record and playback functions

This new functionality is particularly useful if the Ninja is mounted in a position that is difficult to access, or when COVID safety protocols demand it. Using the AtomX SYNC to connect to the AtomRemote App over Bluetooth also makes seamless, timecode-synced multi-cam productions possible.

By taking advantage of the long-range RF transmission patented by Timecode Systems, AtomX SYNC can be used alone or in combination with AtomX SYNC, UltraSync ONE and UltraSync BLUE to synchronise apps and hardware devices.

To enable this functionality users need to upgrade their Ninja V or Ninja V+ with the latest firmware 10.72. The new AtomRemote App is available for free for all customers and is available via the Apple App Store.

The new firmware update also enables users to manage the fan speed of the Ninja V and Ninja V+, a frequent request from customers.

With several adaptive settings, the fan can be set to a low speed when the device is recording. Screen brightness can also be set to dip to extend record times. Turbo fan mode can be activated between takes to enable rapid cooling of the system.
