DAC-70 hits the mark
Sometimes the smallest, least expensive
piece of kit can make all the difference...
----------------------------------------------
"We received our Datavideo DAC-70 Cross Converter and tried it on Sunday morning. After setting the inputs and output dip switches on the actual unit, we hooked it up via an HDMI output from a MacBook Pro. We then took an SDI out to bring the signal to our Livestream Box, and then took the HDMI out from the DAC-70 to the in-house projector.
The Mac saw the DAC-70 as a secondary screen/output immediately, and Livestream recognized it right away once it was selected. It required no drivers, no software, no fiddling...it just plain worked, just like we had hoped the some brand devices would have months ago.
We now have a couple of very expensive some brand paperweights, because for the life of us, we could never get them to work and fire up like that, regardless of the gyrations /adjustments/ tech support trolling we went through to try to get an image.
Bottom line, I am not impressed with the some brand converters...but this DAC-70 was worth every penny we paid for it. Quick install, no hassle, perfect image. Just sayin'. Pay the extra...the peace of mind is worth it."
