For Black & White photography set the B&W mode in the cameras menu and use it like a Film camera. Orange filter increases the contrasts between reds and yellows. It darkens the skies, accentuates clouds and strongly subdues ambient light. For architecture photography, it helps to bring out the texture of brick or stone.
