TriStar’s ability to withstand multiple drops and knocks while continuing to deliver outstanding light makes it out as a new breed of production-ready kit. Nigel Cliff, Sales Manager with Alphatron’s distributor, Holdan commented:
“Many camera accessories are good at what they do but they cannot survive the rough and tumble of real life production. This TriStar unit is built to last, with everything from the dimmer and colour control knobs to the camera mount designed to endure.”
Beyond its build quality, TriStar 4 is also is a great performer. Its Television Lighting Consistency Index daylight score in exceeds 85 suggesting, according to the TLCI scale, that any errors are so small that a colourist would not consider correcting them.
The quality and brightness of the light is in part down to the use of triple emitter surface mounted diodes (SMD) which maintain accurate colour output at all dimming levels. Steel barn doors and a diffuser are included to help operators light accurately while the unit is provided with a D-tap battery cable for use with broadcast power supplies. TriStar 4 can also be powered by a standard on-board NP-F battery.
