Rack Mount H.265 Encoder

Slice is a rack mount HD-SDI high profile H.265/H.264 (HEVC/AVC) encoder and decoder solution for mission critical enterprise applications. Slice enables video professionals to broadcast low latency high definition 1080p video for IPTV, streaming servers, OTT content, set-top boxes, and recorders at an unprecedented price.

Comprehensive Protocol Support

Slice encoders output a variety of stream types, including MPEG Transport Stream, RTMP, RTSP, and RTP Multicast.

Core Fleet Management

Core is Teradek's new cloud-based encoder fleet management system. From a single elegant web GUI, you can monitor and control all of your Teradek encoders, cellular bonding systems, and decoders effortlessly. The interface allows you to direct streams from any one encoder to any number of decoders, even if both are behind firewalls or on private networks. All the encoding and transmission parameters can be controlled remotely from any location, allowing your field reporters to focus on the content and not the transmission gear. The automatic device discovery and drag and drop workflow makes entering IP addresses a thing of the past, while customizable warnings and notifications ensure that things keep operating smoothly.

What is HEVC [H.265], and why does your production need it?

H.264 is one of the most ubiquitous acquisition video compression standards on the market. It’s used for everything from capture on a mobile phone to delivery on most web platforms, including social networks such as YouTube and Facebook (live and on-demand). The sheer flexibility of H.264 has resulted in it being one of the most enduring standards to date. It’s still likely to be your primary delivery codec for some time to come.
