| What video resolution should I set? |
|---|
Out of the box, PTC-100 is configured to 1080P but can be switched to your preferred format via the menu. The camera can be used in conjunction with many video switchers. Datavideo’s SE-2000, SE-3000, HS-2000 and HS-2000L accept all formats available in PTC-100. Please note that the Datavideo SE-2800 switcher does not accept 720P. |
| Which power supply do I use for the PTC-100 when connected to the RMC-180? |
Connect the PTC-100 camera to the larger power supply; The smaller power supply should be used for the RMC-180. |
| Can the PTC-100 work over an existing Ethernet network? |
Users can use CAT5/6 cable to transmit video signals and remotely control the camera via RS-42. Please note that the cable should be used exclusively for this purpose; it should not be shared with other devices or used to carry general network traffic. |
| Can I access the RS-442 protocol on the PTC-100? |
In order to use the protocol, dip switch #3 on the rear of the camera needs to be ON (next to the RS-422 port). See RS-422 Protocol pdf. There is also another set of dipswitches for setting a unique ID number on the base of the unit. Communication Format:
AMX and PTC-100 ID should be the same such as ID:0 Command Format: A Command is made up of two address bytes, CMD1 and CMD2, a variable number of Data bytes (Data from 0 up to 15) and a Checksum byte. The Checksum byte is the modulo 256 sum of all preceding bytes. The most significant nibble of the CMD1 byte represents the command group. The least significant nibble represents the number of Data bytes to follow the CMD2 byte. Command Protocol: Other than the sense command, the unit will respond to all commands affirmatively by sending a three byte acknowledgement (ACK) if the Checksum is valid. If the Checksum is not valid, the unit will ignore the command. Most commands will be responded to within 8 msec. |
