Technical Support Assistant

Based in Glossop, Holdan is a fast-growing technology distribution company which serves the broadcast, pro-video, media and AV sectors. With over 20 years of expertise supplying products and services to the industry, we have built up a reputation for technical knowledge, customer service and a friendly approach to business.

The service team is recruiting for a Technical Support Assistant. You will be responsible for the
Administration of service requests and first line fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.

To be successful in this role you must have strong organisational and customer service skills. An interest in technology is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across a range of our products (training provided)
  • Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
  • Talk clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until they’ve solved or diagnosed a technical issue
  • Test equipment which has been returned as faulty
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
  • Ensure all issues are properly logged
  • Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
  • Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
  • Maintain jovial relationships with clients

Requirements

  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
  • Experience with video and AV products preferred but not essential
