| Q: |
Can
the DAC-2 output Component Y.U.V. and S (Y/C) at the same
time? |
| A: |
The
DAC-2 can't provide Component Y.U.V. and S (Y/C) output
at the same time. To select the Component Y.U.V signal
output, disconnect the "S" cable from the S
(Y/C) output jack on the rear panel. Plugging in the S
(Y/C) cable into the S (Y/C) output jack, will disable
the Component Y.U.V. Signal output. |

| Q: |
I
am using Avid Xpress DV 3.0 with my DAC-2 and I am getting
Pixel blocks on the left hand side of the video output.
How can I correct this? |
| A: |
Please
go to the Deck Configuration menu in Xpress 3.0, select
"FireWire on OHCI" connected to "Generic
basic device-NTSC". Do not select DataVideo DAC-2,
the template in DV Xpress 3.0 does not function correctly
with the DAC-2. |
| Q: |
My
Avid Xpress DV 3.0 is not detecting the DAC-2. I am also
getting the following error message "no input signal." |
| A: |
This
can be caused by installing Windows Service Pack 3 on
your Windows 2000 machine. It is recommended that you
uninstall Service Pack 3 on your computer. Please refer
to the Avid forum regarding this issue:

| Q: |
The
DAC-2 is not sending video output from Avid Xpress DV
3/3.5. |
| A: |
Please
turn off the "Real Time Effects Mode" in the
Avid software. Real Time effects mode disables output
via FireWire (IEEE/1394).
(The timeline window has a circular button that turns
the Real Time mode on or off, Green is On, Blue is Off). |
