Holdan at the Photography Show

The Photography Show runs from 17th to 20th September at the NEC Birmingham and showcases over 250 imaging brands with masterclasses, seminars, and live demos from professionals in the industry.

What’s on the Holdan Booth?

The Photography Show represents Holdan’s largest presence at any trade show in the UK and you can find us at booth number H404 on the main aisle in Hall 2. We’re looking forward to another great event and the opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of our vendors’ products and learn from our customers' needs and challenges. Our technical, sales and marketing teams have collaborated to create what we hope will be an awesome Holdan booth.

We’ll be featuring a range of photography solutions and accessories spearheaded by lens company Samyang, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. On show will be over 30 lens types, including the newly released AF 85mm F1.4 II lens, and anyone attending the event will be able to take advantage of an exclusive ‘double cashback’ promotion with up to £200 cashback for customers on qualifying lenses purchased at the show (for more information click here) being offered by our main resellers WEX, Cameraworld and LCE (LCE you can find right next door to our booth H404).

Another big highlight of the show for us will be the announcement of a partnership between Holdan and Langly. US-based manufacturer Langly has created a range of robust and stylish camera bags, backpacks and apparel designed for photographers with a passion for the outdoors. We’ll have the whole range on show, including the Sierra camera backpacks.

At the lens gallery – again, exclusively designed for us again this year by Wild Arena – we'll have a selection of cameras with Samyang lenses, Kondor Blue rigs and ATOMOS monitors/recorders. At the ATOMOS bar, we’ll demonstrate the range and breadth of ATOMOS products and show first-hand how the new CONNECT products can turn any camera into a cloud-based production tool, saving time and money.

There will also be an opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with a range of products from Angelbird, ASUS, CamRanger, Cokin, HOYA, INOVATIV, Kenko, Logickeyboard, Op/Tech, Panasonic, Plustek, PrimeLight Design, PROMISE Technology, SLIK, Steiner and Wise Advanced.

Say Hello to our Ambassadors!

Something new for the show this year will be the incorporation of seminars from some of our Holdan Ambassadors. We will have a small stage area on the booth for ambassadors to share their practical knowledge and expertise.

Each ambassador has selected a specific topic that showcases their speciality and style of working to provide visitors with technology context as well as handy tips and tricks. Here are some of the ambassador talks we’ve lined up:

• Finland Brown Bears – photographing and filming one of Europe’s largest mammals in the remote forest of Eastern Finland
• One Step More – going that extra step for clients and projects; the benefit of working that little harder and adding that extra 10%
• One Lens on Location – an exercise in using only one lens on location shoots for a minimalist approach

• Alyssa Zalabai | Painterly Children’s Portraiture by Samyang | Photo Live Stage – Saturday 17th September 4 pm
  • Alyssa will demonstrate how she achieves stunning children’s portraits, using light and shadow to create depth. Delving into camera and light settings, composition and colour theory in styling, she’ll also show how backdrops can add interest and the best ways to interact with and prompt your young subjects.

• Chris Frazer Smith | Stills to Video: Simplifying the Transition by ATOMOS | The Studio, Hall 3 – Saturday 17th September 3 pm
  • Commercial photographer Chris has been experimenting with a motion for a while, but now gets asked for it regularly in his commissioned work. Learn how you can apply all your stills knowledge and use the minimal kit to achieve cinematic style on a shoestring, by pushing your comfort zone and getting creative.

• Nathan Plant | The Benefit of ATOMOS - Off Camera Monitoring | The Video Hub - Tuesday 20th September 11.30 am
  • Join Nathan for this overview of off-camera monitors, and how they can help you in your video work. Covering the ATOMOS product line-up, Nathan will also discuss the CONNECT range, with its streaming and camera-to-cloud capabilities that can vastly speed up production and editing time, reducing stress and doing wonders for your workflow.

Prize Draws and Promotions

And, if that’s not enough, we’ll be having our regular daily prize draw where visitors will be able to enter by scanning a QR code at the booth and win awesome prizes such as the ATOMOS ZATO CONNECT, or a Weekender Bag from Langly. Watch this space for more details!
