Sonnet Technologies super-fast card reader / writers are now WindowsTM-enabled. The Qio and Qio MR can now deliver high-speed data transfer between media cards, storage systems, Windows laptops and workstations, greatly increasing the efficiencies of tapeless production teams.

Whether it's the portable Qio that reads and writes to a variety of professional memory card formats, including P2, SxS and CF, or its computer mounted stable-mate, Qio MR, Sonnet adds considerable functionality to a Windows system. A specialist SxS version, the Qio E3, arrives shortly with three dedicated slots. It joins the highly affordable DiO, a low-cost, high-speed USB 3.0 CompactFlash and SDXC media reader.

Richard Payne of Holdan explains that "To enable PC support, Sonnet has undertaken significant development because the Qio is so much more than a media reader. It incorporates a  SATA controller card with eSATA connectors to copy files between two SATA RAID storage systems.  Qio's support of SATA port multipliers also enable connection with four RAID storage enclosures for access to access up to 20 drives."
