High Definition or Standard Definition
DeckLink HD series capture cards help make the move to high definition affordable while still retaining compatibility with your current standard definition equipment. DeckLink HD cards let you instantly switch between high definition and standard definition video connections. DeckLink HD Pro connects to 270 Mb/s standard definition SDI equipment such as Digital Betacam™, as well as 1.485 Gb/s HD-SDI equipment such as HDCAM or HD-D5 all using the same card. Also connect to standard definition analogue equipment such as Betacam SP decks or high definition HDV cameras and component monitors.
Analogue or Digital
DeckLink HD Pro supports the highest quality 10 bit uncompressed SDI connections combined with world leading analogue video and audio connections.
True 10 Bit Uncompressed SDI Capture and Playback
DeckLink HD Pro supports true 10 bit SDI uncompressed video capture and playback for better quality than any other system at any price. Ideal for higher end broadcast decks such as Digital Betacam™ , HDCAM-SR 4:2:2™ and Panasonic HD D-5™ decks, uncompressed 10 bit is the highest quality possible from the SDI television system. The SDI featured on DeckLink HD Pro models is 4:4:4 for feature film quality. The included Blackmagic codec allows 16 bit RGB per channel rendering preserving the quality of 10 bit video. Only 10 bit uncompressed will hold up under the heavy working conditions demanded by clients today, while still retaining that delicate film look.
Built in Live Keying
DeckLink cards can be switched to keying mode with the Blackmagic LiveKey application. Output graphics from Photoshop or other software in SD or HD direct into production switchers, with fill and key output on the two independent SDI outputs on DeckLink HD Extreme.

Uncompressed Video Quality
SDI uses a higher data rate than DV, so it’s got the speed to handle full resolution video in standard definition or high definition, completely uncompressed. That means you can preserve video quality until you need to compress the video, such as the final compression pass for streaming or broadcast
