HDMI-based Editing
A single PCI Express form factor board and packaged with a full version of the latest EDIUS editing software, HDSTORM allows you to work with HDMI inputs and outputs and has a Canopus HQ hardware codec built-in for optimized, CPU-free capture and export of files.
HDSTORM empowers you with constantly synched, full-resolution preview of effects and content directly from the EDIUS timeline. The power of having the Canopus HQ codec on-board means you wont be restricted by CPU speeds or workstation limitations when ingesting or creating high-quality Canopus HQ AVI files for editing. Keeping the compression processing separate from your CPU brings new reliability and system performance to the editing and effects creation environment.
Working as a perfect combination of software and hardware, HDSTORM can handle any mix of HD and SD video content; unlimited video, audio, title, and graphics layers; and any combination of real-time effects.
If you are still making the transition to an all-digital, high-definition workflow, you can purchase the optional HDSTORM Bay (see opposite) at any time, to add a comprehensive set of analog inputs and outputs.
The HDSTORM Bay is included as standard with the full HDSTORM Plus package.
Onboard Canopus HQ Codec Chip Capture and Encode with the Best
Already a prominent part of the EDIUS software legacy, the Canopus HQ codec offers supreme visual quality without the excessive hard disk storage costs normally associated with HD video ingest. With HDSTORM, you can be assured that the HD video content you output from your HD sources will be perfectly preserved, ready for you to either edit, author to DVD or Blu-ray, or store for later usage. Because the input quality is so clean, subsequent conversions to other distribution formats such as mobile phones or the Web are cleaner too.
Minimum System Requirements
HDSTORM is capable of editing both SD and HD content in real time, however the system requirements for real-time HD editing are significantly higher than for SD editing. The requirements shown here are for real-time HD editing.
